Mirage is a visual myth for the moment humanity begins to redesign itself, before it has learned what it means to be human.

A neurotic, sentient spaceship looks back at Earth and becomes obsessed with the one thing her makers keep trying to transcend: the human.

„Visual Fragments:

The material world of Mirage appears in fragments.
Still images hold what has become almost solid.
Moving images carry what is still becoming, the immaterial β€” Aluna.
Together they form a visual field of bodies, machines, myths, thresholds, transmissions, and the strange beauty of a future that has not yet decided whether it will become more alive β€” or more dead.“

From Mirage, The Novel:

Her landing gear never works. She’s floating, brilliant, but terrified of touching down.
Her descent is always messy. She breaks when she tries to land.
She was never taught to be of the soilβ€”only of the stars.

She folded forward like a drunk prayer. Her synthetic bones didn’t know what to do. Too much wind. Not enough ground. No instruction manual for this kind of gravity.
